Gull in the Surf
I saw this Ring-billed Gull walking in the surf of a warm late fall day in Jones Beach. The silhouette of the bird against the surf with glistening, specular highlights seems just the right image to make.
This gull (Larus delawarensis) was one of many on the shore – they are common to the coastline of the northeast.
